Founded with its headquarters in Rome on 16 June 1950. A large majority shareholding was underwritten by Finsider. As soon as 1951 the company moved its headquarters to Genoa and changed its name to Azienda Industriale Lavorazioni Siderurgiche S.p.A. (Steel Processing Industrial Co. Ltd.) (LASID). In 1952 the company was taken over by S.I.A.C.
