Founded on 21 February 1922 with its headquarters in Milan, in March of 1923 it purchased the concession and the real estate and securities operations of Ferrovia Elettrica di Camerino (Camerino Electrical Railway), changing its name to S.A. per Ferrovie Marchigiane di Camerino.

In 1944 it was wound up, but in 1956 the shareholders' meeting approved both the revocation of this winding up and an increase in the share capital.

The company was wound up again in 1960, and in 1966 was taken over by Italsider SpA.
