The company was founded in 1921 by Banca Commerciale e dal Credito Italiano (Italian Bank of Credit and Commerce) to manage the steelworks owned by the same and winding up of the activities not relevant to metallurgy. In 1922 the company was taken over by Ilva Alti Forni e Acciaierie d'Italia.
